APBA Names Fritz Light New COO

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. June 26, 2000 - APBA, one of America's oldest and most beloved sports board game brands, has named Frederick "Fritz" Light as its new COO, effective immediately. Light, who was serving as COO of APBA's parent company AbleSoft, Inc., has been involved with the brand for over 28 years.

2000 has seen APBA undergo a major overhaul in an effort to expose younger generations to the brand. AbleSoft has invested over $1 million in marketing and re-design initiatives to carry the brand into the 21st century. By bringing Fritz Light back into the fold, APBA hopes to draw on his vast experience as the brand undergoes this metamorphosis.

"We have had the opportunity to work with Fritz over the past few months, and have been extremely impressed with his attention to detail, team leadership, and professionalism," said APBA President Bill Bordegon. "Obviously, his past experience with APBA is a tremendous asset."

Fritz Light first joined APBA (pronounced Ap'Bah) in 1972 as the company's Vice President and minority owner. Upon the passing of founder Richard Seitz in 1992, Light purchased the company and took over as President. In 1995 APBA was sold to AbleSoft, Inc., and the company retained his services as President of the APBA division. In 1997 Light became COO of AbleSoft, and his APBA duties became secondary.

Light, who graduated from Ursinus College and served as a company commander in Vietnam, is excited to back with the company. "I'm thrilled to be returning to the games I love, and eagerly look forward to the growth of the new APBA," he said.

Founded in 1951 the APBA Game Company has expanded from its unique board games into the world of computer gaming. APBA games have set the standard for statistic and strategy-based realism in the sports game industry. In 2000 the company will launch its popular baseball game for exciting online league and individual play over the Internet. The company also markets the ultimate tool for trading card collectors. The Card Collector by APBA is the world's #1 card collecting software package. It organizes and keeps the value of card collections up-to-date via the Internet.
