And fans of realistic baseball board games, the ones that
allow you to manage real teams based on their statistical
performance, will be happy to hear that APBA, one of the
originals (and in this opinion the best), has dusted off
its 50-year-old game under new ownership and is offering
a vastly spruced-up edition while adding two versions for
kids 4 and up (APBA Superstars) and kids 7 and up (APBA
All-Star). Previously available only by mail order, the
game is now being sold in game and hobby shops. There's
also a computer version. Just don't expect to find Brian
Daubach on the Red Sox. Because it's licensed by the players'
union and he was once a replacement player, Daubach doesn't
exist, just as he's not included in video games licensed
by the MLBPA. But believe me: Pedro rules. I played a Sox-Indians
