"Of
all the people I grew up with. I would have to say that I was
least surprised with Curt's success," says McConnell, who works
as a computer programmer in Tempe. "He has this ability to focus
obsessively on what he's doing. I remember a time when I went
to his house and he was playing this APBA baseball game, which
was a board game where each player had a card and you would role
the dice to play. And he was sitting there, on his bed, completely
surrounded with paper. He was playing a whole season, every game,
and after every batter he would stop to write down what happened
and kept his own statistics of every single player."
