2001 MLS Soccer Season Card Set

$44.00

2001 was one of the most interesting seasons in Major League Soccer’s existence.

It was a perilous and pivitol year in which the very existence of the young league was seriously in doubt.

Yet, it was arguably one its most exciting seasons, featuring a close title race for the Supporters Shield, and a California Classico battle between the LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes for the MLS cup in the finale of a truncated season due to 9/11.

Ironically, the Quakes had the worst attendance in MLS that year and it was believed their semi-final victory over the Miami Fusion determined which club would ultimately join Tampa Bay as one of the two teams contracted out of MLS prior to the start of the 2002 season.

Manage these 12 teams.
